He woos and wins Ida after their meeting in Miami Beach.   Abe Hirsch, born in Detroit, becomes a butcher.  Despite being bound to a wheelchair, he has a tumultuous love affair with Ida later in life.  The stories of these three people include romance, betrayal, sex, adultery, and illness, as well as courage, generosity, hope, humor and warmth.  Readers will find themselves laughing at their crazy antics, while simultaneously crying at the heart-wrenching circumstances which befall them.
